Ch. Southland's Bowen Island, a 3-year-old sable dog bred
and owned by Sheela "Mike" Cheatham of Petersburg,
Tennessee, was awarded Best of Breed by Judge Marcia Keller
at the 2002 National Specialty in Riverside, California,
Saturday, March 16. The 3-year-old sable dog was sired by
Ch. Southland's Confederate Gray, out of Ch. Southland's
Glorious Rebelle. Matt Stelter handled the multiple-specialty
Best of Breed winner to the show's top honor.

Karen
Jordan handled Ch. Marchello's On Angel's Wings to Best
of Variety, Smooth, and Best Opposite Sex to Breed. It
was the second straight year Mrs. Jordan piloted a sable
bitch to the top honor in the Smooth Variety. The 2-1/2-year-old
is bred and owned by Karen Martin and Kathy DeChello of
East Haven, Connecticut. The multiple-specialty Best of
Breed winner was sired by Ch. Marnus Golden Ruler ROM,
out of Ch. Signet Whispering Windsong.
