Specialty Show and Trial Rules
AGILITY TRIALS

1. If Agility Trials are held in conjunction with a CCA National Specialty those trials are to be licensed by the AKC, and will be run following the rules and requirements in the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials

2. At the discretion of the Agility Chairperson, these events may be open to other breeds as sanctioned by AKC. The Agility Chairperson may also set limits on the entry and decide on the agility classes to be offered.

3. It is recommended that the Agility Trial be held on the same ground as the conformation show. However, if an appropriate venue is not available on the show grounds, then the agility events should be held at the closest appropriate site.

4. It is recommended, if possible, that the Agility Trial be a two day, two ring event with two judges.

1. Standard Agility should be run in one ring, with Jumpers With Weaves Classes run in the other ring.

2. In the event that it is not feasible to have two rings, than one ring with one or two judges is acceptable.

5. The Judges are to be selected by the Host Agility Chairperson in consultation with the Host Show Committee from the list of AKC approved Judges.

1. The Judge(s) may not officiate in two (2) consecutive years at the CCA National Specialty, but will be eligible to judge again after a lapse of one year.

6. The Host club must appoint an Agility Trial Committee which will have complete responsibility for planning and conducting the event. The Agility committee shall consist of at least five (5) CCA members, including the Agility Trial Chairperson.

7. The Agility Chairperson is the liaison between the Agility Trial Committee, the CCA National Specialty Host Chairperson, the facilities organizations and the Agility Trial Secretary, and must be a CCA member in good standing.

1. The ultimate responsibility for the conduct of the event rests with the Agility Chairperson

2. The Agility Chairperson must arrange for the use or rental of safe and adequate agility equipment and ring enclosures.

3. The Agility Chairperson must provide adequate ring stewards, gatekeepers, scorers, runners, course builders, etc. for each ring. A request for volunteer workers may be published in the Agility premium list, or workers may be paid to staff rings.

8. The Agility Trial Secretary does not necessarily have to be a CCA member. If a volunteer for this position cannot be found, the Agility Trial Secretary shall be paid no more than the usual rates of the area -host will furnish rates found within the area.

The Trial Secretary is responsible for preparing the Premium List (separate from the Conformation/Obedience Premium List), mailing the Premium List to those who have requested it, receiving the entries, assigning the random running order, confirming the entries, preparing the judging schedule, preparing and printing the catalog, completing the Trial Secretary’s report, and sending the official marked catalogs, Trial Report and recording fees to AKC
