1. The Collie Club of
America (CCA) Specialty Show will be a three (3) or four (4)
day show, at discretion of the Host group, held once in each
calendar year, starting after February 1 and starting no later
than April 15.
a. If Host Club desires to
hold a Specialty show it will be held following the National
Specialty.
2. An Obedience Trial shall
be held in conjunction with the Specialty Show.
3. AKC Herding Test(s) and
Trial(s) may be held in conjunction with the Specialty Show if
so desired by the Host. If the decision is to hold an AKC
Herding Test(s) and Trial(s) the bid must state if they will
be held before or after the National Specialty.
4. A Top Twenty
Invitational competition or presentation may be
held if so desired by the Host, and must so state in their
bid. If the decision is to hold a Top Twenty Invitational,
competition or presentation it shall be held during the
evening, on a day on which there is no Banquet.
5. AKC Agility Trial(s) may
be held in conjunction with the Specialty Show if so desired
by the Host.
6. The CCA Specialty Show
and Trials shall be approved by the American Kennel Club and
the AKC rules will apply except as waived for specific
purposes. Per AKC (3/2000) Best Puppy, Best Bred-By and Best
American Bred (Rough) competition may be offered as described
in these Show Rules as long as they are judged after Best of
Breed & Best Opposite to Breed is selected.
7. As this is the CCA
National Specialty, all profits and losses shall remain with
the CCA. However, the Host shall receive Twenty Five per cent
(25%) of all profits in recognition of their hard work and
devotion to the breed.
a. The host show
chairperson shall have closed all accounts and forward a
report of profit/(loss) and all surplus funds to the CCA
treasurer, no later than six (6) months following the show.
Within 60 days of receiving the surplus funds the CCA
treasurer will return 25% of the funds remaining, after
paying any outstanding show bills, to the host
b. The treasurer shall
deposit all such funds in an interest bearing national show
account. Each year, one (1) month prior to the national
show, the treasurer shall forward to the host show committee
$1,000.00 from this account to be used for cash awards:
$500.00 to the Bred by Exhibitor class winners and $500.00
to the puppy class winners. If the host treasurer does not
receive the $1000.00 s/he should contact the CCA treasurer
and request the funds.
1. In the event the
national should incur a loss, this account would be used
to reimburse the CCA general fund for any such losses.
2. At the direction of
the Executive committee, the interest from this fund, not
to exceed $2,000.00, could be used by the education
chairperson to subsidize national CCA seminars. No other
funds are to be disbursed from this account without the
express consent of the CCA Executive Committee.
8. The method to amend these
rules is;
a. Submit proposed
amendment to Chairperson of Show Rules Committee, in
writing, with reference to Page and Paragraph.
b. Chairperson will
present to full Show Rules Committee.
c. If the committee
approves the proposal it will be presented to the CCA
President.
d. If the proposed change
is rejected by the committee, the presenter will be so
notified.
e. The President presents
the proposal to the Executive committee for approval.
f. If the proposal is
approved, the amendment will be incorporated into the
official Show Rules, and presenter notified.
g. If Show Rule changes are approved by
the Executive Committee six (6) months prior to the National
Specialty, the new changes will apply.
