Specialty Show and Trial Rules
JUDGES' ASSIGNMENTS

1. Three (3) judges shall be selected for conformation judging. The assignments shall be broken down into three (3) divisions as follows

a. Intersex competition including, Best of Breed, Best of Variety (both Rough and Smooth), Best Puppy, Best American Bred, Best Brace, Best Bred-By-Exhibitor, and any overflow requirements.

b. All Bitch classes, in both Varieties, including Brood Bitch.

c. All Dog classes, in both Varieties, including Stud Dog.

2. The CCA secretary shall contact the judges in the following order , to determine their willingness to accept the arrangements as specified and ascertain their assignment choice. Any of the judges may be assigned to judge junior showmanship if listed to do junior showmanship in the AKC Judges' Book.

a. The Judge receiving the highest number of votes in the final balloting of the Executive Committee shall have their choice of the three (3) above specified assignments.

b. The Judge receiving the second (2nd) highest number of votes in the final balloting of the Executive Committee shall have their choice of the remaining two (2) assignments.

c. The Judge receiving the third (3rd) highest number of votes in the final balloting of the Executive Committee shall judge the remaining assignment.

d. The Judge receiving the fourth (4th) highest number of votes in the final balloting of the Executive Committee shall serve as a Stand-by Judge.

1. This Judge shall not be bound by any "bans on judging assignments".

2. This Judge shall be exempt from the sixth (6th) Specialty rule (see Section V, Paragraph 4). If He/She replaces one of the regular judges, or judges over 100 collies at this Specialty, the sixth (6th) Specialty rule will apply for subsequent National Specialties.

e. These selected Judges are to be notified with copy of Appendix C, Judges Controls/Agreement, return requested.

3. One (1) Judge shall be selected for Obedience Judging by the Host Obedience Chairman in consultation with Host Show Committee. If needed a back-up Judge may be selected by groups as stated above. (See V6a.) Host to notify and verify acceptance via copy of Appendix D, Obedience Judge's Controls/Agreement.

4. One (1) Judge shall be selected for Junior Showmanship judging by the Host Show Committee.

a. One of the confirmation or obedience judges should be considered first.

b. In the event that the panel of judges does not contain a judge eligible to judge junior showmanship, the host show committee will select a judge that is listed in the AKC Judges' Book. The selected Judge must be a CCA member, preferably from the local area. This Judge shall not be bound by any "bans on judging assignment". Should be notified with two (2) copies of Appendix C, Judges Controls/Agreement (modified to cover the days of judging), return requested.

5. Herding Trial Tester/Judges shall be selected by the Herding Trial/Test Chairperson in consultation with the Host Show Committee and the Working Collie Committee and notified with copy of Appendix E, Judges Controls/Agreement, return requested.

6. Agility Trial Judges shall be selected by the Host Agility Chairperson in consultation with the Host Show Committee and notified with a copy of Appendix F, Judges Controls/Agreement, return requested.
