BREED EDUCATION SEMINAR

Tuesday, April 2, 2013, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Fee: $35. Juniors entered in showmanship $15.

"Back To The Future"
What do Phyllis Autrey, Bill Brokken, Anne Cross, Sally Futh, Pati Merrill, and Barbara Schwartz all have in common? They are part of only a handful of judges who have judged our National Specialty more than once. The opportunity to hear these individuals share their personal observations on exceptional collie virtues, individual breed impact, and general breed changes between their CCA judging assignments will prove to be an invaluable experience for all levels of collie enthusiasts. The event will include discussion between panelists with audience participation encouraged throughout and a visual presentation of various collies. We promise the seminar to be both enlightening and engaging. Make your reservation to be part of "Back to the Future."

Checks should be made payable in U.S. funds to the Collie Club of America (CCA). Please list Breed Education in the memo line. With your check, please send your name, address, phone number and email address. Confirmation and pertinent information will be forwarded electronically the week prior to the National.

Reservations open February 1, 2013.

Reservations close March 9, 2013.

Send to:
Patt Caldwell

community project

We will again be having a community service project for the 2013 National in La Crosse. We will be collecting and distributing children’s books to various locations such as schools, libraries and hospitals. We did this in 2008 with stuffed animal toys and it made a great impression on the city.

The convention bureau is looking for locations that would like to receive the books along with a visit from a Collie or two. We are asking all who are coming to La Crosse to bring a book or two along so that we can have a ton of books to pass out to the La Crosse children. Books for all ages
are welcome.

Not coming to La Crosse but wish to participate? You can send your books to me and I will be happy to get them to La Crosse. We know that you will take on this project with enthusiasm and generosity.

state and club baskets

To add to the fun of the National we continue the tradition of the State Basket silent auction. A portion of the proceeds to go to Collie Rescue.

The Baskets can represent your state, club or group. Foreign visitors are encouraged to submit a basket representing their country or area. The more the merrier!

Rules of the game:

1) No perishables;

2) Please do an itemized list of the basket contents as this
makes it easier for bidders;

3) Arrange transportation to the National for your basket.

And one more thing! We would like some part of your basket to represent a breeder or a kennel that figures prominently in your state or club's history to fulfill the theme, “River of Dreams.”

For foreign visitors, contact John if you need a basket. They will be made available for a small fee.
